Altered Self Wellness – Transform into the best possible version of yourself!
Today’s video is a real treat. I have put videos out weekly for several reasons. Some videos showcase different types of movement to implement for healthy living. Other videos I post highlight relaxation or meditation. There are also videos to inspire and teach mindfulness. Yet others are about managing emotions. Some of the videos are for inspiration and motivation. Some videos I get vulnerable to model that it is not only ok but a good thing to be authentic. I have especially loved creating videos that highlight real people who are overcoming life’s hurdles and persevering.
The videos that Altered Self Wellness publishes are to provide free beneficial content that can help you on your journey to improved wellness. I put these videos out for people who are into self-coaching or on a personal journey of self-improvement. I also publish these videos so that you can get to know who I am and what my values are. That way you can determine if you want to work one on one with me as your personal coach.
Today’s video is the first of its kind. At first I thought I was being called to produce this video just for fun; however, I have realized that while it is a silly video there are more reasons I created it. All of my videos highlight different ways to implement self-care and self-love into your life. People use different tools based on their interest to make small deposits of love into themselves daily. This video is a Get Ready with Us make up tutorial. My friend Desirae is one of my dearest friends. In the video you will see why I love her so much. She is a friend that I am completely comfortable being my authentic self around. We spend countless hours in deep conversation and laughter.
When you love yourself you do daily things that reflect that. The same principal works in reverse. If you start doing small things daily that reflect self-love you will begin to love yourself more. I have noticed that when I intentionally set time to shower, put on clean clothes, exercise, meditate, and do a little make up, or eat a healthy meal I am more confident when I set out for the day. I don’t do all of these things every day (except meditation, I do that daily) but I do something kind for myself each day. I have learned that making a small investment into self-care daily make a huge difference in my confidence level and eagerness to great each day.
Beauty comes from somewhere deep within a person. Nothing is needed to add or make someone beautiful. Taking care of yourself, however that looks to you will help increase the joy in your life.
I have found playing with makeup is something I adore. I am by far no expert on it, yet I acknowledge that I love it. Not all people do and that my friend is ok. My challenge for you is to dig deep and find the things that you love. Find the things that result in joy and do more of it!
