Altered Self Wellness – Transform into the best possible version of yourself
We are designed to do big things in life. Don’t let fear stop you from trying new things. It is summer in Alaska, and my house is filled with tiny laughing people with dirty feet. I find most of the time I’m thinking about when the last time was that I put SPF on the children. This video highlights an adventure that we went on recently. A handful of people showed up to climb Skyline. Some had no idea what they were up against; others were scared they could not do it, some believed they were not capable the whole way up while others have climbed it weekly. We had a variety of people with varying abilities, and together we climbed.
There was a time in my life when I was losing the ability to sit or walk. I spent endless days crying in my bed thinking that I had missed my chance to live genuinely. I had made decision after decision to please people around me, and it took being bedridden for a year and a real belief of, that was it, to acknowledge the truth of how I had chosen to live my life. Today I understand that my self-care goes at the top of my priority list. Without my health and sanity, I am of no use to anyone I love. I take care of myself and have decided to align with my life with my authentic self. I thought I would never have another chance to climb a mountain. Today the work I have done to improve my quality of life has worked. I am filled with gratitude as I write this because I have another chance to do life differently and share it with the world.
